Glansevin Mansion, Brecon Beacons
Glansevin is a beautiful Georgian mansion set in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons offering exclusive use of the property and its private grounds for family gatherings, weddings and corporate events.
The owners of Glansevin needed an unobtrusive yet eco-friendly solution for their sewage waste which would cope the number of guests enjoying their facilities without impacting on their spectacular grounds.
As with many clients, the thought of an enormous hole being dug in their grounds and being left with an unruly mess was a concern. During the site visit from The Septic Tank Store, we discussed the option of a tank with a single lid – a Bio-Pure 7 – so that the final aesthetic would be minimally impacted.
We agreed on a location near the woodland, allowing space for expansion. The old tank was emptied and imploded so that the area could be re-planted, and we shuttered around the new lids with a stone backfill to leave a tidy finish. Importantly, heavy duty lids were used for safety – just in case someone runs over them with a mower! The installation was compliant to all current standards and discharged to a watercourse. We worked closely with building control to meet their requirements.
